We had a fine turnout on a surprisingly chilly day, with 28 entries and 33 participants. When I placed controls on Friday, it was a one light layer day. Saturday, I don’t think it hit 40, and the wind was very strong. Still, it wasn’t too bad in the woods, and some runners ended up in short sleeves, so all seemed to be fine afterwards.

There were a few issues with people crossing the boundary, or coming close and frightening a neighbor; but they were worked out. I may need to add larger “Out-of-Bounds” markings on the outside of the state land. I was somewhat surprised that most (all?) of the Long course runners chose to go through the medium green between #11 and #12, but I had thought it was a viable choice at this time of year, before the leaves come out.

Thanks to all of you for coming out. Special thanks to: Sue, for placing and picking up controls on the Short course; for Andy for helping with Short course pickup; for Josh and Laszlo for major east and west pickup.

Next scheduled event is May 30 at Rotary Scout Reservation. Stay tuned for more information. I hope to see you there!
