Empire Orienteering Club (EMPO) is non-profit organization, sponsoring orienteering events, providing instruction in the sport of orienteering and producing detailed orienteering maps of public parks and private venues in the Capital District of New York State.
By purchasing a membership you are supporting EMPO in its endeavors and are granted voting rights. You can apply online or download a membership application.
EMPO is run by volunteers! We offer many volunteer opportunities, and by helping out you meet other orienteers and learn more about the sport. Contact us!
EMPO is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization. Donations qualify as charitable contributions. Donations over $250 will be acknowledged in writing by the EMPO treasurer, in accordance with tax law. For more information about donations please contact us.

EMPO is a member club of Orienteering USA, U.S. orienteering’s national governing body. Members of OUSA receive regular email updates, discounts at national meets, eligibility for US Championship events, voting rights, and membership in the International Orienteering Federation.
