For the first time in several years EMPO is organizing 2 mid-summer events!
These are being organized by club member Josh Yeaton and are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, Aug. 11 at Kinns Road Park (624 Kinns Rd, Clifton Park, NY 12065)
and
Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Shenentaha Creek Park (376 Eastline Rd, Ballston Spa, NY 12020)
Start Window for both is 5:00-6:30 pm. All participants must be finished by 7:30 pm.
Courses:
Sprint length (1.5-2.5km), set up so that running through green areas isn’t necessary. There will be two courses, one ~White difficulty and the other ~Yellow/ Orange difficulty. You can choose to run one or both courses, time permitting. For those interested in running both, I will set it up as a map-flip so you can do them as a continuous course. I will adjust difficulty/length for the 8/25 event based on feedback from 8/11.
Other:
Controls will be flagged. There is no SI planned as of now. If you feel strongly about getting results and don’t feel comfortable timing yourself, let me know in the notes and we can work something out. I will upload the courses to Livelox, so if you want detailed splits/comparisons please bring a GPS watch or otherwise capable device. I’ll send out an email with final details just before the events, so please provide your email address in the form if you use it.
