The model course will be open at Mt. van Hoevenberg from Thursday, Feb. 2 through Sunday, Feb. 5. Parking and waxing facilities will be in the first lot on the left near the end of Bobsled Lane as indicated on the Model map. Competitors who have registered for the ESG / US Nationals do not need a trail pass but must have credentials. Credentials will be available at check-in for Friday’s Sprint event. If you wish to access the model course before Friday, you must pick up your credentials in Lake Placid at the regular ESG check-in location (details here). If you pick up credentials downtown you will probably be offered your free jacket at the same time, but please DO NOT take a jacket! even if you are offered one. You will receive your jacket on Friday at Cascade when you check-in for the Sprint event (or at the first event you attend if not racing on Friday).
Anybody other than registered athletes wishing to do the model course or just ski on the van Ho trails must purchase a trail pass at Mountain View Lodge.
Please print out a model map as there will be none on site. There are flags at the control locations on the Model course; there are no timing boxes so SI chips are not required. Please stay on the south side of Bobsled Lane – trails to the north of Bobsled Lane are out of bounds until after Friday’s Sprint event. Please observe the one-way trails signs as well as the one-way trails marked on the map.
