Despite covid restrictions, there was a good turnout at Mt. van Hoevenberg for the Empire State Games Ski-O Championship event, one of the few ski-o events on this year’s calendar. While there were several performances of note – like Judy Dickinson, our eldest racer at 81 who completed the course on snowshoes, Stina Bridgeman who had already competed in the biathlon event that same morning, and Nina Swank who at 7 years old was not only our youngest participant but was also competing in her first ski-o race – most participants had driven through hazardous conditions to make it to Lake Placid and all cheerfully braved the frigid race temperatures to complete their courses. Congratulations to all!
